Sarah Peterson MSW, LSW, ECMHC, OIFP-II

Have you ever felt lost in life or like you don’t quite belong? Do you feel crushed by the weight of the world and are seeking understanding and purpose? Have issues of the past stopped you from living your greatest potential?

Whether you are an overwhelmed parent searching for advice and support, a person looking to heal from trauma, or simply searching for your sense of self, my goal is to help you not only realize your potential, but grow in those strengths and foster empowerment. My goal is to offer you support and a safe place to be vulnerable in searching for your unique purpose while healing from the hang ups of the past.

I have extensive training in a variety of areas. These specialties work together to target and improve family homeostasis from a variety of angles, including, but not limited to: infant and early childhood mental health, couples therapy utilizing the Gottman Method, and the perinatal/postpartum period. My goal is to not only solve the problem that you are in, but provide in-depth education on prevention and maintenance in the most important areas of your life.

My approach is humanistic and strength-based. I believe in creating a meaningful partnership and rapport with my client and then attacking the problem in collaboration. I also work from a cognitive-behavioral framework and am able to provide EMDR therapy.

At the end of the day, your problem is unique to you. You do not fit a module of healing just because you have a certain diagnosis or have experienced a certain event. We are all on a unique journey together and navigating this in a partnership fosters continued growth in many aspects of life.
